News Story
In the process of creating a basic news story, you will learn about specific news editing techniques and the journalistic code of ethics. You will work in teams to select a subject, conduct an interview, and report a story. You will learn to incorporate video elements in news stories, such as interview sounds bites, reporter stand-up, b-roll footage, natural sound, supers, and reporter narration.

Commerical
In this project, you create a commercial for a product (such as a soda or candy bar): identifying the goals, audience, and purpose for the commercial. Working in teams, undergo a formal review and redesign cycle and produce a final commercial for a product. In the process, you will learn to create composited video using creative lighting techniques and special effects.
Mini Documentary
In this project, you will work in teams to create a mini-documentary: identifying the theme, audience, and goals for a particular topic. Your topic of interest must be approved by the teacher before beginning.

Whiteboard Video
You will select a famous author, actor, sports figure, or musical artist. Create a storyboard of how to tell the visual life of the individual. Set up a camera on a tripod. Aim it at a whiteboard. Record and start drawing. Use video editing tools to speed it up to four times its normal speed and add a voiceover and music.

Digital Video Project - "A Perfect Day"
The theme is “A perfect day.” Write a script for any narration and create a storyboard based on the theme. Using the storyboard and script select the appropriate equipment to record your video. Remember to utilize different camera shots, camera movements, and camera angles when shooting the video. Select a copyright free music track of your own that will fit your theme. Edit your project according to the storyboard and add any titles or effects to enhance the project.

What is (INSERT CLASS)
Create a video that highlights a class, such as “What is Digital Media” or “What is Biology.” Create a storyboard and script. Shoot video that represents visually what the class is about. Record the voiceover, then edit the footage to the voiceover in a video editing program.
Cooking How To
Create a how to make it video in cooking class. Record footage of how to make something (like a pizza, cupcake, etc). Record the narration and add music and titles in a video editing program.
Mini Monster Movie
In groups, you will plan, record, and edit a mini monster movie. Focus is on a variety of screen shots and angles, storyline, and adding appropriate effects to create a scary monster from a non-scary item.
